A Mothers Cooperative in the Arts

Audrey Sullivan

Audrey’s passion for art is rooted in her years growing up in southern Italy where her studies lead her to apprentice at the Royal Opera House in Naples, Teatro di San Carlo, assisting in set design, make up and costume.  After moving to the States, she raised two children in the “real world” before returning to art as a vocation.  For the past 25 years, Audrey has owned and operated Escaped Artists Studio specializing in faux finishes, mural work and painted furniture.  Much of these learned techniques, particularly gold, silver and copper leaf are transferred to her art work on canvas and are in private collections across the country.  Today she lives with her husband, a dog, two cats and a bird in Northern Virginia where she teaches art for the home school community and raises bees.
